Simple question for Mac users... ?

I am taking a required intro to macintosh computers course for school. I've owned a mac since I can remember so I've whizzed through this class, however I missed this one stupid question (even thought I'm pretty sure the instructor marked it wrong by mistake!)

To open a file, would you single or double click? (the test didn't say where this "file" to open would be located...)

Thanks!

  1. From the Finder, double. A launcher in the dock, single.

The interface guidelines most Mac apps follow has clicking be a select operation, which leaves double clicking to open.
