Simple question on securing home wireless network?

Please help, I wish to secure my d-link wireless home that ijust created so that I can only access and my Pc which i will be installing the adapter for that as well, is it something with windows i clearly need help, last time i googles home secure network it brought me to a d-link site which my friend has also but is that what makes your home secure i really need steps, i'm terrible i forgot all my compia and computer classes

  1. First what make and model is your wireless router and what operating system are you using?

    To enable Security on your wireless router you will need to enable WPA encryption and create a pass-phrase, you will then need to configure your windows to use the same pass-phrase so that it can connect securely to the wireless router

  2. I'm not sure if I understand your question. If you asking about a security password for a network it should allowed you make it during the setting up a network process. (I assume you've got a disk with guide - set up a network step by step). If not try to go to control panel, choose network and sharing centre and then set up a password in network settings.
