I would like to elope with my fiancee. I am not sure what needs to be done.

What is a simple-- or better, what is a good way to do it? What would happen if we go to vegas? or city hall?

What does it involve, what is required? I want to know everything.

( yes, I previously posted this in another category.)

  1. http://www.ceremonyway.com/bayareaelope....

above is a website which has packaged for people looking to elope out of state, that website is for San Francisco, but I am sure you could find one for just about anywhere.

  2. Reno!  You can get married there at Lake Tahoe, much nicer than Las Vegas, but if you're closer to Las Vegas, then go there.

If you go the City Hall route, you'll need the traditional waiting period, blood tests and marriage license.

  3. actually city hall is not bad...no need for blood test in CAli anymore...but big cities...like LA and Sf ..you have to make an appointment to get your license and the ceremony. But a smaller city like Oakland ..all you need it to show up...Check the cities web site and it will tell you what you need for that specific city or one near by

  4. In California there is no waiting period or blood tests...

You will each need a valid picture I.D. (Examples: Driver's License/ State ID)...

In California Clerks of the Court (They are the ones who issue marriage licenses) can also perform marriages..

    _____

In Nevada there is no waiting period or blood test

If you choose to go to Vegas or Reno  plan on arriving before 2 p.m.  Clark and Washoe County Court Houses close at 5 p.m. (I know Clark County Court House in Vegas used to stay open all night with a window to get marriage licenses, not anymore they began closing at 5 p.m. in either 2005 or 2006)..  Arriving by 2 p.m. will give you more than enough time to find the courthouse and get the license you will need...

You will both need valid picture I.D...

The Clerk of the Court can marry you..

You can choose one of many wedding chapels...

    _____

If you choose Reno 3 blocks north of the courthouse and 4 blocks west is a wedding chapel....

If you choose Vegas there are at least 15 wedding chapels on The Strip most are located toward the south end....
