Simplicity Portable AC - Idle hose, what is this for??

We just got a portable AC and it comes with a bucket and a direct drain. There are two hoses...one is the direct drain tube that the manual describes as only for direct drain options and should be run underneath the bucket, the other says idle tube, and is collecting water. Neither one of the tubes has been unstopped because the manual does not tell you to do anything special if you arent using the direct drain option. I have been over and over this...what hose do you use to drain water into the bucket if you are not using the direct drain option?

What, if anything, do I do with this 'idle tube' ?

as long as ur getting the condensation  or water from th ac to the bucket it dont matter
