Newcastle United full back http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Danny-c10193 Simpson is hopeful of a quick return from injury after receiving a hamstring strain in the 1-1 draw with Aston Villa this past weekend.
Newcastle United’s fears were quelled when the English player received an update on his hamstring scan. The player is expecting to be fit in about three or four weeks and is currently working on his fitness.
The former Manchester United player was expected to be out for at least two months after receiving the injury, but recent scans reveal that the player will be back for contention in a month.
Newcastle have been seriously short staffed when it comes to first team players, with the likes of Ryan Taylor, Cheick Tiote, Haris Vuckic and captain Fabricio Coloccini on the sidelines.
Ryan Taylor was the first of these series of injuries; the player damaged his cruciate knee ligaments and is expected to be out for a prolonged period. Coloccini had been struggling with a hamstring injury himself, but returned in Newcastle’s 1-0 victory
against Atromitos.
The player has however just experienced a recurrence of his hamstring injury while on duty with the Argentinian national squad. The defender is working on his fitness with the Argentinian national team’s medical staff. The Magpies will be hoping that their
captain returns in time for their clash against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019 on the 17th of September.
Simpson joined the list of injured Newcastle players recently, and spoke to the club’s official website regarding his rehabilitation.
“It’s a lot better than I thought. I have never had a hamstring problem before. I just felt something bad and I knew straight away I would have to come off.”
"But the scan results came back on Wednesday and it is hopefully three weeks, maybe four maximum.”
Simpson acknowledges the growing list of injuries that Newcastle have faced recently, and can sympathize with manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-c4244 Pardew. Speaking about the other injured players, Simpson added:
"With there not being a game for two weeks, if there is a time to have a little niggle then it's probably now. I will just have to see how it is at the start of next week and take it from there, but hopefully I won't miss too many games.”
