Sims 2, please please help!!??

Question

ok, so i installed my sims2 dvd the other day and it played well, but today it will only play for 15 minutes, and then my whole computer shuts down...

its keeps doing this. Can anyone help me??

Your computer is overheating...are you playing on a desktop or a laptop because the laptop overheats very quickly and very easily.  Sims 2 is a big game and you computer has to work harder to run it (unless you have one of those high priced gaming machines) If you're playing on a laptop keep it in a well ventilated area or you can buy one of those cooling docks to place your laptop on.  If it's a desktop same applies makes sure it's not pushed up to close to the wall in the corner..give it some breathing space.

You could have a virus or the sims game makes your computer use alot more CPU usage

So it is easier for your computer to over heat

So everytime I play sims to i have to make sure my computers fan is well ventaletd

Make sure urs is and that there is no dust in the fan! :)

you probably have too much stuff downloaded on the computer! so clean just the things u dont need out. and if its not that, then u more than likely have a bug or virus, which lets hope its not... have u downloaded anything recently to your computer?? if so check it out! hope that helps!

It may be your CPU overheating.  It works extra hard when playing sims.  The fan probably needs cleaning. If your pc is making alot of noise when you switch it on then this is the reason. I took mine to PC World and all they did was take the side pannel off and hoovered the dust out the fan which cost me a furtune.  Do it yourself! it's quite easy and wont damage your PC.  Your sims should work much better then.
