Sims 2 Apartment Life HELP?

I'm having problems. First the mailbox for all the apartments is the regular residential mailbox and not the one for the apartments. and when you click on it it gives you all the options you have when you use the "boolprop testingcheatsenabled true" cheat but i didnt have it on and i tried to turn it off just in case i did have it turned on and forgot but it kept doing it. also, my roommate never showed up. i had two separate sims take in a roommate and they showed up in the corner of the screen as part of the family but no actual sim appeared on the lot. I thought they might have been at work. one of them was but after they were supposed to be off work they still never came. i dont know what to do about it.

First of all when you invite roommates you have no control of them so thats why they didn't appear in the corner as part of the family. The other issues could be that the people who designed the game made a few mistakes. Like all the other expansion packs, they come out with a patch. Maybe other bugs/glitches are messing up your game. It could be custom content if you use that stuff or you may need to download other patches for your other expansion packs if you may have them.

I also got a roomate who appeared as the icon but nowhere to be seen.  They are supposed to show up though.  My other sim who moved in sees the roomate around, but not the sim who had her move in. And her needs are slowly draining lol

I've also had the mailbox issue. The first time I went to the lot it was the apartment mailbox, now it's the old residential one.

I have the normal mailbox too, so when Monday comes, I can't pay my rent!

Maybe it doesn't have anything to do with boolprop..., but with another patch we've installed!

The first time I installed AL, the downloads I had where disabled (you know, when they say it can crash the game, and asks you if you want to enable or disable the .... how do they call it? Personalized Content?), and I saw the APARTMENT mailbox!

  But then, I wanted the content enabled (the stuff on the net are much better than the ones made by EA), so I turned it on, and BAM.... normal mailbox...
