Sims 2 Apartment Life How to Change Lot Zone?

Has anyone discover how to change the lot zone for the Sims 2 expansion pack Apartment Life? Inorder to build rental units on the lot.

You just press Ctrl Shift C and then type "changelotzoning apartment base". The only problem I get is that when I convert my furnished residential lots to rental lots I lose most part of my furniture. The only things left in the converted lot are the kitchen and bath appliances. Yeah buuu-huuu-huu.
