Sims 2 community lot help?

Question

I went to a community lot and i cant get home or to another lot

Wenever i clck walk home or get a cab or walk to another community lot it wont do it

What do i do

I think you should just save your game and then quit. Then you can just go back on it or restart the computer because then it should let your sims go back to their house.  

One time I had a Nanny over and she wouldn't leave!  She just stood in one spot on the deck and she would fall asleep there everynight and she peed on herself and all that stuff but she never went to use my toilet or bed or anything.  I tried clicking on her to tell her to leave but i wasn't able to for some reason and so then i saved the game and exited and when i came back on that household she was gone.
