Sims 2 crashes after playing for half an hour?

Question

I bought a brand new laptop to play my sims 2 on but when i play it for half an hour a box comes up saying this application has crashed and now will terminate and then the game shuts down.It does that everytime i play it,i have 3gb ram and 160gb memory,and windows vista home premium.How can i stop it from crashing?I have reinstalled it but theat doesn't work.

you shouldn't get pc games just buy a console like ps3 or psp and play it on there that way it wont crash

Maybe the game is not compatible for your laptop?

Maybe the runtime has terminated it in an unusual way.

Maybe the game requires a high video card?

Well mabye the disc drive always crashes when used 30 mins?i aint sure

and your video card? is it the latest ATI Radeon or Nvidia Geforce? you haven't mention it. have you updated it?

i update my windows before i install sims2 this year.only then it work perfectly.

Not a problem with your laptop, but its the combination of:

VISTA + SIMS 2 = problems

LAPTOPS + SIMS 2 = problems

And if you have BOTH, then I'd recommened just buying The Sims 2 Stories, it's laptop friendly & will probably give you time to play.

BUT that's a lousy answer: www.ea.thesims2.com/  go to the BBs and ask it there. I'm not so good with laptops and Vista, but ace at XP & normal PCs. ☺☻

have u got a expansion pac if so play the newest 1 or muck round with the settins and it is a vista

i have a vista laptop too. some sims work on vista some don't you have to check the requirements on the back of the cover of the sims 2 package check if it says vista. if it says windows 2000/ windows XP bought the wrong type of sims 2. call customer service and they will tell you which one to buy other than that you can ask them if its something to do with the game itself.

Hmm that's odd... maybe before u run sims just check how many processes u have running

i have a lot less Ram than u which means i have to shut everything that's running on my comp and only run sims i.e windows, internet, messenger etc
