Sims 2 downloads not working..?

i really wanna download different hair and stuff for me sims but when i save it, it doesnt work when im playing the game? how do i get it to download right?

You can skip through the bits that aren't relevant.

Also, you put downloads in the Downloads folder. If there isn't one there, then create one.
