Sims 2 downloads trouble (trying to download from www.modthesims2.com)?

Question

Ok it says to copy the package folder and then go to EA games/The Sims 2/Downloads but after I go to sims 2 it doesn't have the downloads folder, I tried making one myself but it doesn't work can somebody tell me why. Or just give me the instructions to download something (i.e hairstyle) in a step by step way. I have tried looking up instructions on the internet and follow them but they don't work so please don't just copy and paste from a site. Unless it is really easy to follow or can tell me what I am doing wrong.

The folder you need to put the file in is under EA Games and is probably in your Documents folder.

Documents -> EA Games -> Downloads

The correct file tree for the downloads folder is

My Documents>EA Games>The Sims 2>Downloads

Body shop creates the Downloads folder so if you've never run that program you won't have one.  Be sure to capitalize it and put the s on the end.

What you've downloaded from modthesims2 is either a .rar or a .zip file.  Use WinRar to uncompress.rar files.  Inside the file you'll either have a .package or a .sims2pack file.  Double click .sims2pack files and place .package files in the Downloads folder explained above.

Just as the others said, you can find the folder by going to Documents>EA Games>Sims2>Downloads. If there is no folder, create on by right clicking inside the Sims2 folder in the documents. Rename the new folder Downloads this is where you will place the sims files, unless it is a 'little blue icon', you double click those and they will automatically install after you allow it to. You can have sub folders inside the downloads folder as well, so if you want to keep different items grouped together, like from a certain artist or hairstyles etc. you can do so. Also make sure you download the mesh that goes along with the items you download, or they will not work properly.
