Sims 2 help!!! 10 pts!!?

Question

So I backed up my lotcatalogs and downloads to a cd. I got rid of Open for Business and Bon Voyage, and this basically made me lose all of my sims. I tried replacing the lot catalog with the one on my cd, but my sims still don't show up in the game. Am I not doing something right? I saved the lot catalog and custom downloads from the My Documents/EA Games folder, so I know it's right. How do I get my old sims to show up in my new game? Please help!!

put the lot catalog and the custom downloads at the my documents\EA games\The Sims 2\Downloads.

All manual downloads should be put at the downloads folder that I just mention.
