Sims 2 nightlife won't install?

Question

hey, okay so i recently bought sims 2 nightlife, and i have been trying to install it. i already have sims 2, sims 2 open for business, family fun stuff, glamour life stuff, celebration stuff, and kitchen and bath stuff.

when i play my sims there is no problem, i only download extra stuff from sims2.com. i started trying to downloading nightlife to my computer and this always comes up --->

"A problem occurred when trying to transfer the file 'D:\AutoRun\AutoRun.bmp' from the media. Do you want to retry to copy the file, or cancel the installation?"

i always click retry and the stupid thing pops up again.

argggg, does anyone have any idea whats wrong?

Hmm, Well I Had To uninstall my Sims 2 nightlife becuase it was wakced up :l And Then when i tried to install it it stoped at 45% Where It Says sound, so i tried puting in the other disk but it says please insert disk one...so it wont work for me.

i would advise you to uninstall it and re-install it or try to return it, and if that doesnt work then there is still more plenty sims in the sea =] Lol.i know i didnt help that much but it was worth a try

You may need to do a manual install.  See EA's explanation here

you may need to uninstall and then re-install everything in the order in which it was published, as Nightlife is older than Open for Business.  Make sure to back up your files before doing anything drastic!  They are in My Documents / EA Games / Sims 2  just copy that whole folder to a new location, like your Desktop or a flash drive.

If you do un-install everything, you will need to install Sims2, get the patch, then install all the expansions in order, patching between each install, and then do the same for your stuff packs
