Sims 2 red and purple help?

this isnt my problem its my friends hope you can help well what happens is when she turns her sims on her house walls flash red and her naborihoods flashpurple anysugestions ??????????? links to webbsites website names anything to help please (:

her computer probably doesn't have an advanced enough graphics card.  If she is using a laptop, try a desktop computer instead.

This is a common graphics card issue.  It means the current card can't handle the game.  If your friend gets a new graphics card with more power, the problem will go away.

And while their at it, since they have to open the computer anyways for the new graphics card, if your friend can add more memory to their computer, this would be a good time to do it.  Sims 2 is a memory hog.  Adding more memory will not only increase the speed of the game, but it will make the game more enjoyable to your friend.
