Sims 2 wont work!?

Question

ok well i have had the sims 2 disc for a while and it has worked well on all the computers it was used on except an old one we had because it wasnt updated enough. anyway, i have a newish laptop which it SHOULD work on but it wont install properly

i install it and it gets to 69% and then it say it has an error has accured downloading sound file 5 or something. why is this?

the disc is perfectly clean and has no scratches.

how do i fix this

it could be that u just dont have enough memory on the laptop i mean i checked how much memory the sims used the other day and it used about 1500 mb of memory and that was just the first one alone!!! and if thats not the prob then it could be that ur computers just too slow to run the program thats wat happens to laptops sometimes

You might nort have the most updated version of the sound software, i can't remember what its called but look on the back of the case and at the bottom it has all system requirements, if you have to download something just type it into google and get it!!

It happened to me and i loved the sims!! All i had to do was clean the disk though, hope it works!!

well if you have a mac or apple computer there's a certin sims for macs and apples. otherwise i cant help you.

ahhh a simmple case to answer!!!!

you need to try and install a different thing and if that works then there is somthin wrong with the disc!

if it is it would prob be a thing called a "gelli" its when the disc isnt scratched but its got a vires that can pass through the computer!
