Sims Bustin Out on PS2 Problem?

OK so I was playing The Sims Bustin' Out on PlayStation2 and I was in story mode. What happened was that I came back from Mimi's Place and I was living at Studio 8 and wanted to trade-in my car for the new one I just unlocked by cleaning up the mess at Mimi's Place. So I was trading in the old car and then I came back and I HAD NO CAR! It's SO weird! Please help! Idk what happened! can anyone figure this out please?
