  1. There really isn't any "bad" sexuality in the sims 2. There is woohoo, but you don't see anything. No different than when you watch tv and a couple climbs into bed together, then the screen fades to black or it goes to a commercial. On the sims 2, you see the sheets/covers move, a foot or two peek out, the bed bounce, but that's it. No nudity. Even if you could see them nude, they look like Barbie/Ken dolls.

The Sims 2 is so much better than any of the story games (castaways, vacation, etc). You can create everything - houses, clothes, cars (if you have the Nightlife Expansion), sims, pets (with the pets expansion), families, send the teens to college (with University). There's so much potential. There are also a lot of downloads of custom content available. If you decide to get any, you should let your mom see what you're getting, so she doesn't get upset. There are some downloads that would upset her, so stick with furniture, new walls, floors, kitchen stuff (fridge, counters, tables, chairs), bathroom stuff (toilets, tubs, showers, towel racks), lights, paint colors, floor colors, clothes, hair, eyes, makeup, skins (different colors). Stay away from any site that says they have adult content. You can't go on those if you're under 18 anyway. Mod the Sims 2 (MTS2) has all of this and it's free. They don't have adult content. (http://www.modthesims2.com ) Let your mom take a look at this site. She may like the game better if she can see what other people are doing with the game.

Tell her it teaches you a lot about responsibility. If you have 2 sims get married and start a family, you have to make sure the baby is fed, changed, cared for, played with, etc.. When the parents go to work, you have to make sure someone is there to watch the baby. When the baby grows to a toddler, you have to get the parents to teach him/her to walk, talk, and use the potty. When he/she becomes a child, you have to get him/her to school and make sure homework is done, along with some fun activities and improving his/her skills. As a teen you keep doing the homework and training. If you send them to college, there's more homework, socializing, additional training. Throughout, you have to make sure they maintain their social contacts (friends). It can teach a lot about life.

On the various sims 2 websites and here, I've seen kids as young as 10 playing and adults in their 70's. It's a lot of fun and can be very educational. Ask your mom for the game and say she can watch you play. In fact, let her play (she may become addicted!). If she has any questions, she can ask here or feel free to send me a PM and I will try to answer. I started playing this game back in February or March and I'm loving it. I like to build houses and upload them to MTS2 to share.

If you can convince her to get the game for you, see if you can find one of the following versions:

The Sims 2 Double Deluxe - this contains the original Sims 2, plus the Nightlife Expansion and the Celebration Stuff Pack.

The Sims 2 Limited Edition - this contains the original Sims 2, plus the Nightlife and Bon Voyage Expansion Packs.

If you can't find either of these, then go with The Sims 2 Deluxe, which is the original game and Nightlife.

Good luck convincing your mom. Remember, if she has any questions, she can ask.

  2. I've never played castaway.

But I think it looks pretty fun.

I personally LOVE the sims 2.

But the sexual content doesn't really bother me.

    I think it's kinda funny.

If that's an issue for you and your family than Castaway is prolly a better choice.
