  1. http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=4x-2y%3...

  2. its simply substitution

    for example,

    number one:

move 4x over for the first eqation

    -2y=16-4y

    divide -2 on both sides

    y= -8+2x

plug y into the second equation

    3x(-8+2x) '=4

    distribute

    -24x^2+6x=4

    move 4 over

    -24x^2+6x-4=0

divide both sides by -2 so that it doesnt become messy and confusing

    12x^2-3x+2=0

now, factor.. if that doesnt work then use completing the square.

sorry, summer=lazyness i wont do it for you.

im sure you know how to factor and do basic algebraic skills correct?

so do what i did.. somewhat, and you should get 1 or more answers..

if you have more than 1 then you have to plug those into the original 2 equations and see if they satisfy BOTH equations. if they dont, then that number is not the answer.

there may be more than one correct answer.

    best of luck to you.
