Since Americans are wasting a heck of a lot of money on a Congress that is not accomplishing anything - how?

about we reduce the number of Congress people and Senate people in half - and go from there?

Then put time limits on them by limiting them to a minimun of only two terms of only three years apiece!

Vote.  Then you can have a say on who is in Congress and the Senate.  Go watch a session and see exactly what is or isn't being done.  Get involved.

Changing the number of seats in Congress wouldn't save much money...but it would never be done since it would require an amendment.

If it did happen they'd probably give themselves 50% more in raises anyway since they'd have to do more work.

Their terms are limited...we call it elections. If the people can't control things that way maybe we deserve the slugs we have.

It doesn't matter how many of them there are, they are still going to be in someone else's pocket.  We have to vote in people with common sense in order to get any changes.  I agree that they are all overpaid for the sorry jobs they do.

It gets better.  Congress votes on their own pay increases.   and I believe they get perks like gas allowances.  

I agree that Congress needs to be chopped in half.  I understand the point of having multiple representatives but the reality is that having 6 people that don't in any way represent my interests isn't doing any better than having 3 people who won't don't represent my interests would.

Senator Arlen Spector ( R, PA)  wants to hold congressional investigations on horse racing, to make sure racing is safe---for the horse.

Therefore, if I were a horse, I'd have to conclude Senator Spector is doing something very valuable.

I think we should begin with cutting their ridiculous salaries in half seeing as though half of them don't even show up to vote for 50% of the stuff that passes through there....have you heard that noise coming from Washington D.C. lately, it's the OXYGEN THIEVES sitting around playing "who is more important" and getting paid for it

We need to start acting on these things.
