  1. I reckon it would cost the same has they would go all out to out do the last one.Mind Gorden brown is going to give them millions so why should they be bothered.

  2. I don't think it's possible for Beijing to host another games at least in the near future because there are only a handful of cities that held the games twice or more.

    Athens-1896(summer), 2004(summer)

    Paris-1900(summer), 1924(summer)

    Berlin-1916(summer), 1936(summer)

    London-1908(summer),1944(summer), 2012(summer)

    Tokyo-1940(summer), 1964(summer)

Maybe 20 years of wait? As you can see above there is at least a 20 year gap in between before the same city hosted another Olympics. BUT most of those are in the earlier years of the 20th century.

Their biggest chance is maybe the 2018 winter games...

    ^^ EDITED:Sorry totally mislooked Athens!!

  3. KJN, you have that right. Harbin is their best chance anytime soon. You forgot Athens on your list though. How could you forget the original Olympic city?

  4. Organizing the Olympics is not only about money. Other things like mass support, publicity, manpower(volunteerism), government support, organizational ability and resource allocation all need a whole lot of national effort and time. Beijing was able to tick all the boxes this time but a second one might even be tougher as the world would naturally expect more from them. But suspect the next city would be in Shanghai.
