Since Blu-Ray has beat HD DVD, does that mean the prices of Blu-Rays players and the Playstation 3 go down?

  1. Yes, as soon as a lot of people start buying the machines.


  2. SONY has never been a company that puts the customers ahead of profits.  They won the war with high priced systems and media.  I can not believe that they would now lower the costs.  I would expect them to stay the same, or even go up a little.

  3. Actually, it appears as if it is going to be quite the opposite. The only place that currently has a blu-ray player for around $250 is compUSA. If you have the money go there and get one now because they won't last. The rest of the market appears as if it will gouge consumers with a hike of at least a hundred bucks. Even the ones on eBay are going UP in price rather than the DOWN trend I had seen in recent months.

  4. Yes, now that there is only on format you'll see other companies making Blue-Ray players and prices on the players as well as the movies will start to go down, I don't think you'll see the PS3 going down though.
