Do casinos have the right to throw people out of casinos and tell them they cannot play? I was wondering because card counting done without any "assistance" is not illegal

  1. Not only can they throw you out for card counting, but even if you are winning to much just by playing the game without card counting, they can ask you to leave as well. Plus the fact that you have to be world class to be able to count a 6 deck shoe, plus the fact they do random re-shuffles makes card counting hard to do. You really have to be world class to card count, and i know i am not.

  2. There are a couple of correct answers, but since there is an incorrect one I will reiterate that casinos are private property and as such they ownership reserves the right to refuse service to anyone.

  3. Yes the casinos have the right to throw people out that they the person is card count, yes card counting is to illegal.

  4. card counting isn't illegal, but it is highly looked down upon. if u are caught, the casino does have the right to kick u out.

  5. The casino is private property. They have the legal right to refuse service to any individual or group of individuals.

They also have the legal right to allow you to play specific games. For example, they may bar you from Blackjack, but allow you to play Baccarat or Poker or Craps.

Counting cards itself is 100% legal. It is an activity that occurs completely within your brain. So far, nobody has been able to make thinking illegal.

  6. allthough it is not illegal they can kick you out as you have more chance of taking there money, which they don't like winners. 'less profits for them

  7. SOME casinos can eject people under something known as "innkeepers rights" for any reason, however there are jurisdictions where this does not apply to card counter due to case laws.

The casinos will however take some kind of action upon you.

If they cannon remove you from the casino, they will impose special rules onto your game that make it impossible to play a winning game.  Typically they will shuffle very often, but they may decide to limit your maximum bet and the number of spots you can play instead.

  8. It doesn't have to be illegal.  It's not illegal for me to stand in the lobby and sing the national anthem over and over while farting, but as the owners of a private property they have the right to ask me to leave if they wish to.

So if they think someone is counting cards really well, they will eventually ask these people to leave so they don't lose a bunch of money.

  9. A casino can eject anyone they want to, for any reson the see fit.

Reason, because a casino is private property, and any actions by a "guest" can be cause for them to ask you to leave.

Just this past week-end, a friend of ours who does not drink, was told to leave the casino and not come back, because a security guard said he was "drunk."

Turned out our friend was flirting with the guard's girlfriend and he didn't like that.  So he trumped up the too drunk story and was successful in having our friend ejected.

Our friend complained to magement but they said they will not over rule their emplyees.  All our friend could do was file a written complaint on the guard.

Needless to say, we will not be going back to Harrah's in Kansas City ever again.
