Since Chitin can enhance growth speed and germination in seeds, how can it be used as a fertilizer?

Will the Chitin had side effects to the plant or to those who will eat the fruit of the plant?

Since chitin is the second most abundant natural polymer, it already is found in soils and has been used by plants for hundreds of years. Insects have the highest population density among all living creatures and chitin found in soil comes mostly from these as they shed their exoskeletons as they go through their growth cycle. I don't think there will be any adverse effects on the plants or the people who have been eating the fruits of these plants.
