Since DVD took over the VHS, whats next in taking over the DVD?

Then you got your tapes and CDS.... i wonder what the h**l is next! *sigh*

we'll be having to re-buy everything just to be in the now!

(half my dvd collection is just stuff i bought many years ago that i have already on Vhs)

Yep, BlueRay is the next generation Disc. It's just a HD DVD.

Blu-ray and hard drive is today, tomorrow will be SIM.SD/XD cards etc, Sunday is probably coming off the drawing board right now.

just like the war bw beta max n vhs with vhs coming out on top,even here the successor to the dvd was a tussle between hd dvd n blue ray...but now the war is over,one can safely opt for the blue ray its the future generation format.

where as the direct replacment for DVD is meant to be blu-ray it will in the next year or so come under threat from movie download companies such as itunes ect, as they will become cheaper and cheaper, where as Blu-ray will always have the overheads of manufactering and packaging, which downloads dont have.

Blu-Ray. The dvd is still alive, it's just been enhanced.
