  1. You were born too late, you wouldn't feel that way if you were around in the 1970s.

...and when the Mets beat them in the 1973 NLCS, all they did was *****, moan, complain, and cry....

  2. It's been nice to be a Red Sox fan the last few years. In both 2004 and 2007 it seemed like we were going to lose the ALCS, then we went on to sweep the World Series.

  3. Obviously you weren't around or a fan of the 1970s Reds...wow what a team.  1990 team was good too.

You have my sympathy...Padres fan here.

  4. Iam a huge St.Louis Cardinal fan myself i try not 2 miss a game but with the girlfriend its sumtimes hard but im only 18 but 4 bout 8 years ive seen these cardinals play a little sumthing that managers have 4gotten about its called teamwork and small ball now most of that comes from a great manager(Larussa) when the cardinals won the world series i had one of the greteast times watching it cuz no1 though the cardinals could make it 2 the world series critics sais we werent gunna beat the padres well we over came that it was soo cool  to see everyplayer belive that they can and everybody played better than they really were then no way people thought we could beat the mets but we edged them in a tight series me myself watching molina homerun (GAME WINNING) then we beat tigers when i saw that i almost cried cuz it was my first worldseries win experience

  5. Texas is in second but we're in a weak division. The Mariners dug themselves into a hole and won't get out. Oakland is just falling. Texas has a great offense and good defense..but **** pitching. Thats what always kills us...so I don't really know what its like to be a fan of a good team. Its nice to not be in hole but we can't get a win streak going. Win 2 lose 1 has been our story. I'm constantly worried about us falling back into third so I can't really enjoy being in second. I mean I support Texas 110 percent but I don't what it's like to be a fan of good baseball...Texas hasn't been that great my whole life.

  6. It's pretty awesome. Don't worry, your time will come. And being a true fan through these bad years will result in you loving life when the team gets good. Trust me. We went 85 years without a ring, and now life is great again.  Every team has a bad decade or two.

  7. Actually, you are a fan of a good team but just not a winning team right now.  Patience is a virtue and it will pay off for you in the near future when their solid young players get a few years under their belt.

  8. the Red Have a good young team, couple good young players

I'm a Yankee Fan, and since i became a Fan in 2005, i have seen the Yankees go to the Playoffs 3 years in a row and loose in 1st round :[, but as a Fan i expect a lot of them i get mad when they don't success nit because they dint try, its because i know what they can accomplish i know that they can  have uscess

  9. LOL, funny question.  I am a Colorado Rockies fan - only their incredible run at the end of last season hints that they might be good.  It was fun to watch them make the playoffs, then go on to the World Series, but I'm afraid they are doing no better than the Reds this year.  Sorry you guys lost Griffey Jr - hard to lose a legend like that.

  10. Don't let your hopes down, you know theres a chance everything can change.. after all the cubs haven't one the big one in 100 years, and we still feelin good..

  11. You may think it's all fun and game rooting for a top team like the Red Sox but it's not.

Sometimes I wish I can be a fan of a average or below average team. I don't have any expectations for them so I can really just watch the guys and enjoy some baseball. And if they do good, then it's just gravy.

Rooting for a good team, you have a ton of expectations. I want to see wins and when I don't, it PISSES ME OFF. Sometimes you care too much if you are rooting for a top team and you lose the fun of it all.

Be glad you don't have that pressure =)

  12. I've been a Reds fan for a long time.  I feel your pain, but I remember their 1990 championship run.  It felt really great, especially going into that World Series.  Everyone was saying that the Reds were over-rated and the the Oakland A's would win the series easily.  Boy, was it sweet the the Reds swept them in 4 games!

Edit:  How can the Reds stink every year?  They are too cheap to keep good talent and are always trading them away for prospects.  They are more like a farm club for every other major league team than an actual major league team themselves.
