  1. HAHA!! windows users. tut tut.

now IS the time to install linux ;-)

  2. try ~

turn power off to PC and modem/router.

disconnect all cables ~one at a time and re-connect them.

    leave modem off.

power up PC .if any thing comes on.(fingers crossed)

find SP3 in add and remove or in search~delete it

    power modem up.

your decision leave off or try to re-install SP3

    hope this helps

  3. When SP3 downloaded on my laptop (HP), it completely corrupted by operating system. The only thing they could do for me was reinstall windows. It's most likely SP3.

  4. Roll back the computer via system restore to the time before you installed the service pack.

Go to the start menu, then programs, then accessories, then system tools and select system restore.  Click the radio button that reads 'Restore my computer to an earlier time' and then click the next button at the bottom.  Clicking on bold dates will show what was and wasn't installed on that date.  Select the one before or on the day of the installation of service pack 3 and follow the instructions.

    Good luck!

  5. Re-install windows but you WILL loose your files. See if a local computer store can fix it - i don't suggest local technicians they're often dodgy.

And by the way for the person above who said go to system restore ... she said she can't get the display to work.

    Hope this helps.
