Question:

Since Intelligence is a part of our natural evolution, how can there be an infinite intelligent mind (God)?

It's like believing there is an infinite eye. Why is a human quality there? Intelligence being a human quality I mean (for some)...

God cannot therefore be uncreated. He must have origin. How can Existence have an existing creator? Most theists of course believe God is the unseen, all-knowing Energy and Matter of all that is, which only further deems their concept of an infinite mind...random and lacking any evidence. Basically, yes - God IS all energy and matter. Let's worship it by getting on with our lives and not relying on ancient myths and legends!

  1. First of all you are taking evolution as a given premise, which a theist might argue is wrong altogether, or that evolution does not necessitate the lack of an initial creator for our MORTAL existence. A theist might say that, since we are finite, we cannot comprehend infinity and that god is not bound by the logic that our finite minds are bound by. Indeed, when one studies the logic on which our math and science depends, a conclusion that such is a reliable tool for some knowledge but not currently sufficient for all knowledge is highly defendable. This is the reason for religious attempts to answer supersensible questions to begin with. However, just like logic can be eurocentric and male dominant, many of us are aware of the anthropomorphism in religion (as is demonstrated when we call god a "he" when it makes no sense whatsoever why god would have a need for a s*x) and it's negative implications for the way we view our existence in every aspect (such as "man" as being over and against nature, etc.)

  2. ...excuse me...GOD is man made...nothing intelligent about his existence its infinite mind and eye...

  3. You are right. "Down with the Myths." Myths come from the followers of various religions, but the founders of those religions support your point of view. They were promoting the idea that if God is omnipresent, all we have to do is be who we are.... and that Being would reveal the hidden universal. And indeed, Socrates said it: Know Thyself and Jesus said the same thing but in different words: Worship in Spirit.

So I'm with you. Down with the Myths and just be. More on this simple approach in my biography.

  4. The human quality is there because that is the only way to explain something non-human. God is beyond human characteristics, but can be explained via human attributes, i.e. a human eye sees a thing, God's "eye" sees all things. The quotations around the word, eye, represent a metaphorical description of God's divine nature. The description is a metaphor, God is word to describe the real thing, true reality.

Everything that exists had to have an origin. God is the typical word used to describe that origin. Whatever it is, it is the origin of all. It's as simple as that, don't let G-O-D throw you off, it's simply the origin of all things.

  5. OK, the answers is really complicated. More than we can understand at this time.

For millions of years life has existed on earth. Trilobites lived in the oceans for 600 MILLION years, and never wrote a word, made a machine.

Dinosaurs lived in the oceans and on the ground for 75 MILLION years, and never wrote a word, made a machine.

People lived on the ground now for about 2 MILLION years, and we have wrote words, made machines, etc, etc, etc.

Evolution could have NOT made this possible! God gave us our brains.

Second, the universe has a center beginning - is constantly expanding outward - to an END. There is nothing beyond the END.

We are 1/2 way between the beginning, and the end.

    Hope this helps.

  6. Every effect must have a cause except the un caused cause, God. Nothing exists apart from God.

    Mans potential is God like.

  7. Its true that religion is just an idea created by Man to give some explanation and reason to an existence we know nothing about.  It hides the brutal truth of life and makes death less depressing.

But faith is a good thing!

It helps the weak to give reason to their lives and makes them better people.  I don't know about you, but I'll take a dumb but religious person over a highly-intelligent but evil person any day.

  8. To believe in such a thing as an infinite or omniscient or omnipotent intelligence at work in the universe is the supernatural answer.

The opposite of supernaturalism--of any type--is naturalism. The Atomists invented it, and for 1000 years, until Augustine turned the tables on it, it was the prevailing world view. Naturalism states that existence is a self-sufficient primary, not of supernatural origin or workings, and that existence has always existed, as opposed to "nothingness" having once existed from which that supernatural intelligence created existence.

The problem with that is that if such a supernatural intelligence existed, then it would be an existent, which mean it would have existed, which means it could not have created existence.

  9. If you believe in a God then worship it as energy and matter. However I have only found evidence which strongly affirms atheism

  10. I like the way you think.
