Since McCain picked Palin to be his VP, will he stop saying he puts country first?

I mean to be blunt, he is a 73 year old cancer survivor who could croak> If he puts country first why would he pick Palin? She obviously lacks credentials. The city of Chicago has more people than the entire state of Alaska. like Bill Maher said "when she got a call at 3am it was because a moose got in the garbage."

So it is obvious he did not pick based on qualifications but rather as a political move to attract women voters. So how can he say he puts country first?

  1. Well, I don't know about all that.  Obama seems to think all of our problems can be fixed by taxing and redistribution of wealth.  Palin on the other hand has proven that she has the ability to stop wasteful spending.  I like her idea much better than Obama's.

  2. He can't.  Personally I believe he has a crush on her and just wanted to keep her close.  I mean, previously he spoke about how important it is to know your vp, work closely with them, trust them etc... yet he met the woman once, then spent the next bunch of weeks arguing with his advisors about why SHE was the perfect pick (when it is pretty obvious that she isn't)...

I'd love to hear some of those discussions...

  3. She is way more qualified than Obama.  And has more Executive Management experience than Obama, Biden and McCain combined!

A genuine reformer who fought corruption in her own party and brought REAL CHANGE to her state government.

Not someone who just talks about "change" in an empty suit, mind you - but someone who has actually effected change.  She is a smart, tough and popular Governor, a wife and mother with a union background - and not your typical "right-wing" Republican.

    It was a brilliant selection.

  4. Hmmmm...

So a small town populist stands up against corruption in her own party and fights for reform to the point of unseating an incumbent governor in her own parties primary and goes on to be elected as governor in a general election and then cleans house and fires all of the cronies..oh yeah from her own party and forms a new cabinet for true reform.

Yep, this is change I can believe in.

  5. McCain did it because of cynical manipulation. Of course he does not put his country first or he would never have caved in to Bush on the Torture issue.

Thirtysix hours after the selection, all those Hillary voters have googled this chick and the sane ones are thinking "...and he thinks THAT

crooked fundie will get my vote?"

The hardcore pseudo conservatives love the choice though, so he made hay in their quadrant.

I really think he miscalculated why people were voting Hillary though.

  6. I have absolutely no idea.  First the racist slap about the MLK holiday in Arizona.  Now the slap in the face to women that we are apparently completely stupid.  I think it's obvious he is not concerned about the people of america and only with winning an election.

  7. By picking Governor Palin, McCain continues to show his love for our country.  He picked a reformer, a person who has made a change, cleaned up corruption, stopped wasteful spending, turned down wasteful spending from Congress (the bridge to nowhere), gave money back to the citizens of Alasks (Obama wants to take from us all!).  She has first hand experience about ANWR and actually has an energy plan.  Obama wants us to put air in our tires which everyone already knew about - meaning it's nothing new, not a "change".  Biden is not a young man either in case you didn't notice.  Obama has absolutely no experience and Palin does.  Learn the facts.
