Since Oprah Lost 1/2 Her Viewers Do You Think Movie Theatres Will Lose 1/2? ?

I do know about Oprahs online cult group she has and that is just a shame. But she lost most of those viewers after she campaigned for Obama. She then said on her show she did not care about the viewers, she was going to support Obama- she chose her man over her viewers.

Um, movies are supposed to be about the films and the storyline, not who's in it. (What's that got to do with Oprah.)

Btw, when it comes to politics, they are just people like us with an opinion. They only get to voice it publicly because people like to put cameras on them.

You can close the book on Susan Sarandon, as far as I'm concerned, also, "Shawshank" USED to be one of my favorite movies; still kind of like it, but it's lost something...

I understand where you are coming from with this question,but the last I heard her viewership was down more like 25%.I think the reason for this is that she had predominantly came off as a neutral entity,and her recent obama love-fest put off a large portion of her independent and Conservative viewers.

While there are some actors that I would not pay to see in a theater(sean penn or george loony come to mind,along with robbins and sarandon),I don't think the loony liberal ones will have as much an impact on the theaters that oprah's crush on obama has had.

A lot of people feel strongly about political issues. (Like you do obviously) When you have such a big platform it's hard not to speak your mind. Especially someone like Oprah who has travelled the world and sat with political leaders for interviews, and has done so much good for the world. To say you won't watch her show anymore because of her choice for Obama is a bit harsh. Come on.......it's Oprah.

Have fun watching the Left Behind films and that unfunny looking Michael Moore comedy directed by that Zucker guy.  Those are the only movies you'll probably be able to watch.

I don't usually listen or care for the opinions of movie stars upset for those that go out of their way to make front page headlines voicing it like Tom Cruise did with scientology. Unlike cuzziman84 I can't look at his face without laughing hysterically out of my mind now.

Let's hope Opera winnebago looses the other half of her viewers. And the movie theatres have lost most of their patrons because of Blockbuster and Netflix and the net. I haven't been to a movie theatre in about a year.
