McCain asked her to be his VP, do you think it was selfish of her to say yes knowing what kind of press her daughter would get?

  1. This is the same woman who had a troubled life before marriage. She was convicted for driving under the influence. It looks that Her husband had to keep her down by knocking her up as much as he could.

She is very ambitious and vindictive as shown in her firing of a senior department head. Its no surprise that her family life is "such as"

  2. So, I'm guessing you saw "Juno" last year -- and liked it.

This year, you're holier-than-thou because it's NOT Hollywood -- it's the GOP that's bringing the same subject matter.

As a DEM, you get hypocritical, because it suits YOU now --  right? As far as your WANTING PALIN TO RESIGN? because her daughter's 5 months along? -- if you have a problem with the issue, say it. But don't play games, about what YOU think millions of people are going to say, think, recoil from, etc. etc. -- these Conservatives VALUE LIFE and FAMILY. (Would you have been happier, with a hush-hush termination of the child? does THAT suit YOUR values? how about the Downs baby -- would you keep/love him, knowing at 4 mo.'s that he had it? well PALIN DID.)

This happens. Teenagers can be stupid. Or don't you read this Yahoo/website?

This is a problem that may ONLY help Palin, as she's dealing with it. She's mature. She's going to be the GRANDMOTHER/VP -- how about that? Real people, can get votes from real people.

  3. I do. As I Mother, I think you should always consider the needs of your children first. It seems that Palin should not have only thought of her family but also what this would do to the Republican campaign. I am not judging her or her daughter. It could happen to anyone. It just seems that if you are going to put yourself in the public eye, you need to be cognizant and sensitive to the negative feedback that will likely come out. Palin can likely take it but was her daughter prepared for this hurtful back lash?

  4. No.

David Axelrod is a douchebag.. its SOP for him and the Obama machine.

  5. Her mom needs to rethink her stance of teaching kids about condoms. Her daughter is lucky she didn't get an std.

  6. Children do not run for office, so lay off of her.

  7. Man, Palin has raised a kid who is out of control

I feel sorry for Palin. I know some kids are just stupid nuts

But if Palin's way of raising her had anything to do with this, then I say to h**l with Palin

If you can't control your house, you can't control a nation

  8. Yes, it was hugely selfish of her to accept when she knew full well what it would entail for her daughter.

  9. no; it's her daughter's fault, she chose to have s*x. you can't just hold off on your life and the things you want to do just because your daughter got pregnant!

  10. McCain knew as well.  I'm sure she spoke with her daughter about it before she accepted.

  11. How about the press involving a 17 year old girl in the election being a despicable liberal tactic that should have no bearing on the issues of the day.

Girls have babies all the time without their parents dropping everything.

Young miss Palin is engaged to the father and if the media focuses on the election instead of harrassing a young girl who is not relevant to this race I think they will do just fine especially if she got her work ethic from her parents and not from listening to the liberal and dishonest media.

  12. Yes.   Her daughter is only 17.  To subject her to this media storm is not what I would call good parenting.

It also guaranteed that her daughter would have to keep the baby and marry the father.

With less press, the daughter may have been able to adopt the child out if she didn't want to raise it.

  13. This is one those stories with no good guys.  McCain for picking a woman with ethical issues, Palin for accepting for knowing the situations, demonstrating not just poor guidance but even worse communication, the kids for exercising poor judgement, and the people who won't let this go away.

The issue with the state trooper being fired is bad enough, but Palin sort of brought this on herself when she interjected the kids herself into her campaign.

  14. Her daughter is no stranger to being in politics, and she obviously sees her mother as someone she can talk to. It's obvious they've talked about a lot of things if it is national knowledge that there is to be a wedding for her and the father of her baby. Every family sacrifices to get through things and celebrate the positive outcomes as well. It looks great to me, but I might still be a little too optimistic, who knows?

  15. no. not selfish, but a liar.

  16. SELFISH?????

PUTTING HER COUNTRY BEFORE HER FAMILY>

    SELFISH????

  17. I don't know if selfish is the word, but for the Republicans to claim all this religous stuff, are they now presenting the first teenage mom to be in the White House also. This definitely is not politics as usual.
