to accept Christ as your Savior, obey all of the commandments, but not to be a part of any religion? I am afraid to be part of any religion due to the fact that Satan is deceiving so many..How are we to know if we too have or are being deceived?

  1. I think that is taking the "straining at gnats and swallowing the camel" nit-picking of the differences in Christian franchises too far, don't you?

Pick up a stick.  Break it.  See how easily it snaps in two?

Pick up 100 sticks, bind them side by side.  Now try to break them.

  2. How is Satan deceiving the world of religion?  What is your source besides some crack pot fundie preacher?

  3. Abandon religion. Duh.

  4. it would be "wise" to follow ALL commandments of ALL gods ever been thought of by man.

  5. The Bible is the word of God. You can avoid deception by checking out what people say against the Bible and getting two or three proofs out of the Bible about that subject which agree.

  6. Assumption of facts not in evidence.

  7. The Bible says if you accept Jesus as your Lord and savior you will be saved after death. If you are a christian that should be good enough to follow whatever religion you please. As long as you have Jesus you'll go to heaven. Don't worry about Satan.

  8. This may well cause you some upset but Jesus instituted His church and it is to be one body united in faith and service,to go it alone is to rebel against the express command of Jesus,``Father may they be one as You and I are one``

The temptation today is to opt out  and do your own thing which is actually a form of moral relativism,(if I feel it is right then that`s all that matters, and I must be right)

Jesus founded His church and Satan has been attacking it since day one,but as the Lord said,`The gates of h**l shall not prevail against it`

    God bless.

  9. If you believe that a mythological creature named Satan actually exists, then you are part of a religion like it or not.

  10. What you say is correct, but only to a certain point. If you have accepted Jesus as your savior he has imparted to you the Holy Spirit, who can tell the difference between truth and deception. The Holy Spirit guides us into all truth, and if you are open to his leading he will show you the way. Denominations are mislead, but religion as a whole, when viewed properly leads us to God.

  11. who said you needed to join a religion? having beliefs is one thing, but harvesting infelixible thoughts is another.

and i hope when you say "satan" you mean the feared leaders of mankind, because they are the biggest satan of all.

  12. i agree, that is why i follow no religion but study Gods Word and pray for guidance

  13. There is absolutely no credible, tangible, verifiable evidence to support the existence of 'satan'. It's a silly Bronze-Age myth.

  14. There are plenty of Non-Denominational churches, that are based on the bible.

  15. Satan sits at the head of the church. Just follow His teachings. Jesus didn't read the Bible. Jesus didn't go to church. He did love everyone and forgive everyone. He prayed, meditated seeking ever only to do God's Will, not his own. He showed gentleness, kindness, long suffering, brotherly love and patience with all He met. Jesus did O.K.

  16. I discovered much the same thing, Lisa.  So I started reading (again!) God's Word, and started at the beginning, not just with the New Testament.  I learned that Jesus never told His disciples to start a new religion.  He (Jesus) was a Torah-observant Jew, as were His disciples.  They continued being Torah-observant after the crucifixion, until they themselves were martyred for their belief in Jesus.

Then in the 1st century, the emperor Constantine started a new religion and called it Christianity.  In order to get the pagans in Rome to go along with him, he incorporated Pagan practices, replaced Passover with "Easter" which was a celebration of the pagan goddess Ishtar.  He added "Christmas" which was never part of God's commandments to observe, etc.

After learning of all that, and much more, I chose to follow Jesus as He truly was - a Torah-observant Jew.

    May God bless you!
