  1. Plenty of American brewers are great. Most of them are not huge. Sam Adams is generally good, many local craft brewers are better. Search your local liquor store and you should find something good. Or, try looking some up online. There are websites with reviews that could at least put you on the right track. Also, Borderline_Babe is completely wrong. The best beers I have ever had have been American craft brews. Bud, Coors, Miller etc. are bad, but there are many Americans who know how to make great beer.

  2. Sam Adams.

  3. Borderline is so wrong I was able to trick Y!A and I rated you down TWICE!!!

Rogue, Stone, Sierra Nevada, Harpoon, 3 Floyds... I mean, just how long of a list do you want before I utterly destroy your idea that American beer can't be good?

That mass market Bud, Miller, Coors is all garbage.  h**l, now all 3 companies are foreign owned so it's not even American.

  4. It's regional.  In Michigan, there are countless great breweries.  You can get many of those beers in your own local supermarkets.

I know that Bells exports through the Midwest.  There's Sierra Nevada out west.  There's Brooklyn Brewing in New York.  I happen to find Sam Adams disgusting.   Most of the ones I have mentioned here have nation-wide distribution.

Why do need to have an "American Beer?"  Our clothes are made in China, or electronics are made in Korea, our cars are made out of parts from every country but our own, or produce is from South America. . . If you like Bud, just drink it.

  5. Go for Sam Adams in Massachusetts or Rolling Rock in Pennsylvania...

  6. 'Good American beer' is an oxymoron.
