  1. Your question doesn't make much sense but I do have a comment.  Since companies are not persons, they must be amoral.  You do realize that amoral means without morals?  Meaning they don't do things because they are right or wrong, they just do them.  Companies are out to make a profit, because that is their purpose, without profit they cannot continue to exist (even so-called non-profit ones).  They are all regulated now, or do you mean they should be limited in how much profit they can make?  This would be detrimental to "society" because it would cause stagnation and take away any reason for people to start companies in the first place.  What you are suggesting is the same as saying that "The Government" should say you can only be paid a certain amount for your work, no matter how hard you work, presumably based on some arbitrary scale; say because you are between 5' 4" and 5' 6" tall and male; with more being allowed for those 6' to 6' 6" because that is better for "society" as a whole.  Besides everytime the government "regulates" something it ends up being worse for society.

  2. And so profits should be limited, therefore retail prices be limited?

Does this sound like price controls to you?

    Consider controls on oil prices.

When the global imports increase to where the cost demands a retail price exceeding the controlled retail price......what do you see occurring?

During WWII, two things took place with price controls.

    Shortages.

    Black markets.

  3. Yeah you communist. If you hate corporations so much, go live in the woods without anything that's mass manufactured and see what your quality of life is.

  4. Because this is a capitalist country and not communism - at least until Obama gets elected.

  5. They should be.
