  1. She has transcended the status quo political scene at light-speed showing us her razor wit, her biting sarcasm and endearing sincerity. She has shown courage and strength, by putting the needs of the citizens of Alaska both Republican and Democrats ahead of greed, fraud and refusing to sell out to special interests and corrupt politicians.   Sarah Palin last night showed us a new model of not just a female politician,  but a real life example of what the founding father idealized for leaders in the service of it’s citizens. I see her as the nightmare of every politician who from this day forward would put their personal interest or special interest ahead of the interest of all the citizens they were hired to SERVE.  Her family stories were genuine and real. Her commitment to special-needs children was moving. Her contempt for special interests was obvious and long overdue. She is unlike any and every politician I have ever known in my lifetime and I can’t wait to cast me vote for John McCain because I see them as a bright future for America.

  2. Oh but being a senator for less than 2 years... now that is experience you can believe in.

    Snark!

  3. Uh...She's been in office less than 2 years...Carter and Clinton both had full terms...

  4. Then what exactly do you hold as proper experience?

I don't think it matters what the title is - as long as they are proactive and have the right policies for the people at that time.

  5. Vice President is a back up position, they usually sit in on meetings at the White House and are supportive to the President.

In rare cases of ties in Congress they will cast the deciding vote I don't think that has been used since the 60s.

Most of the time the VP finds a cause like literacy, or something like that, and does speeches.

Most politicians do not even want the job because you end up blending into the background of foreign and domestic news.  The only time your name comes up in the news if you slip and fall or end up in the hospital.

Why everyone is wringing their hands over either parties selection is ridiculous, the last time they needed the Veep was when Nixon resigned(Ford), before that when FDR died on his 4th term(Truman) plus the assassination of Garfield (replaced by Arthur) in the early 20th century.

It's not often the Veep has to sit into the presidential seat and even then they have multiple people that advise them on any foreign or domestic policy issues. Though most don't make any major decisions and Congress rules the roost like usual.

  6. Being a governor for 1 and a half years doesn't qualify you.

I know you'll come back with some comment about Obama, so let me tell you that he's been in the state and national senates for 12 years.

He spent a lot of this term campaigning, but let's say that he spent two years campaigning, that's still 10 years as a senator.  And if you're scoffing at being a senator, than you shouldn't be voting for McCain either.

  7. morons!

No it's not enough to be Governor, compare the State of Alaska with the City of Chicago:

Alaska’s gross state product is less than $40 Billion as compared to Chicago’s approximate $442 billion. Chicago is rated as having the most balanced economy in the United States, due to its high level of diversification.

The Alaskan economy, on the other hand is dominated by the oil and gas industry with petroleum extraction making up more than 80% of the state's revenue.

Alaskan State operations are completely funded by oil revenue.

There are less than 700,000 people in Alaska (less than 25% of the Chicago population 2,833,321), so between the oil revenue and minimal population, what governing experience does she have.

She was not elected Governor, she was appointed by the oil companies. It is clear to me that she is in the pocket of the oil companies, she has to be, they pay her salary.

Let's not forget the republican deprecating denigration of Community Activism. For the past week we have heard one republican after another telling the American People that there hopes, goals, dreams,  needs and voices don’t matter.

Someone should remind them that the only reason Palin is even allowed to vote in this country, was the result of community activism. The Suffragette Movement, Better Business Bureau, Green Peace, Ralph Nader, Martin Luther King, Red Cross, Good Will, Salvation Army to name just a few are all community activists. Oh yeah and while there at it they should take a look at the signatures on the "Constitution","Declaration of Independence" and "Bill of Rights" each one a community activist. The United States of America was founded as an act of community activism.

John McCain was given a second chance as the direct result of community activism.

I personally don't give a &*%$ that Sarah Palin has a Bachelors Degree, that she is a PTA mom, or that she has a child with down syndrome (George Bush Sr. had a brain dead child and he grew up to be President). I do however care that she is, as out of touch with America as the rest of her party. If they (republicans) win again we may as well change the name of the country to The "Divided States of Chevron" and reprint all of our currency to read "In Oil We Lust"

  8. Most presidents are either Governor or Vice President before they become president.

Being a Senator does not give you the experiance of running a government that a President needs.
