I think Global Warning awareness has become widespread worldwide.The outcome is become more citizens have acknowledged for such good issues from all well known scientists, environmental scholars and concerned groups. However, no one can conquer the human weakness of greed, selfishness, and fear. Just look at US, Hong Kong, China, and many Asian countries. Most of them are being exploited in terms of economic growth in the areas of financial markets, housing development, and technological advancement. I think the problem is described as " It seems better but actually getting worsen". The reason is the citizens are aware of it but the authority ignores it. You can quote the facts of America and China have refused to participate the control of Co2 and So2 emission that caused the climate changes and, particularly harm to the ecosystems and human life. Hong Kong fascist chief executive, Donald Tsang Yum-keun even lied to the public and the foreigners that Hong Kong air has improved. IT'S WORSE.

not that folks haven't tried to improve.

it's just that it's really hard to save (not use) energy.

however, if nothing had been done at all, it would have been even more worse, so in that light, it's better --- that is, it's not as much worse as it could have been.

however, with India and China increasing their use of energy dramatically, it will be very difficult to reduce CO2 increases.

one might note that European countries have not met their Kyoto goals -- not because they didn't try, but because it's very difficult.

Well, awareness of the problem has increased tremendously, which is good.  Unfortunately this hasn't translated into any substantive changes, and the world use of fossil fuels has only increased.  I actually think we may be "saved" from global warming by running out of available fossil fuels.
