Since humans make 3% of the worlds carbon dioxide?

how can we stop the earth from making the other 97% of carbon dioxide? If we get rid of decaying plants, volcanoes, forest fires and others we could make earth almost carbon free.

  1. Careful - you're getting dangerously close to reality.  Too close for this forum I suspect.

Global warming is a loony cult.  Humans do not have (meaningful) control of climate variation, as you see from your independent thinking about CO2 and GHG concentrations.

It won't convince a true believer, because they have already decided they want to be remembered in history for tilting at windmills.

Ken (a person who has invested his entire life and a lot of money in the theory) posts an art poster on CO2 and talks about it in the context of 400,000 years.  His picture is designed to SCARE.  The earth is 4.5 billion years old and during the Cambrian CO2 in the atmosphere was 4500-7000ppm.  Temp didn't correlate AT ALL for at least 100 million years.

It doesn't now either.  Follow the money.

  2. By injecting science into a strictly Hollywood and DNC matter, you have effectively killed your acting career.  Thanks for your sane remarks.

  3. Sounds like you've been watching Penn & Teller.

  4. It doesn't matter what percentage we make, what matters is whether the extra percentage can be compensated for by an increase in removing of CO2 by nature.

It just so happens that there has been a much smaller increase in the rate at which CO2 is being removed from the atmosphere than the rate at which we put it into the atmosphere, it doesn't matter that most CO2 emissions are natural, what matters is where the extra CO2 is coming from.

  5. and yet somehow the atmospheric CO2 has reached a level more than 30% higher than anytime in the past 400,000 years.

I guess those decaying plants, volcanoes, forest fires, etc.  have been pretty stable emitters.  But when humans come along and put out their "little" 3% increase, suddenly the source/sink balance is out of whack.

  6. OK now that one is not accurate - - we add 3% to the cycle that wasn't there.

I need to call you out on this - it may be an innocent mistake but it may be that you're being misleading deliberately.

There are valid grounds for skepticism.

The "only 3% of the CO2 is from humans" argument is NOT one of them.

I don't buy AGW either but I need to call you out on this.

We need to be as precise as we expect them to be.

  7. Since your home was probably built on a forest (like almost every city on earth) that used to convert this "carbon dioxide" into oxygen. What was once naturally balanced is now out of balance. Since you're made of carbon you wouldn't want Earth to be carbon free.

  8. And all the plants would die ...There would be no plants to recycle our oxygen..

  9. The 3% is how much we breath out the rest comes from our cars, planes, machines, factories, etc.

Please try and keep the discussion civil you freeking nimrod.

  10. good question!!!

  11. yup and while were at it y dont we just totally destroy the earth the things u mentioned are natural so they need to happen and humans are natural to the earth so i am hoping u are just being sarcastic to all these environmental freaks

  12. Great question, and your proposed solution is excellent also.  You've sort of followed the Al Gore philosophy to it's logical conclusion.  Finally, an Earth free of co2.  Oops, errr, then the plants will die also.  Nuts.  But not to worry; by that time we'll have all died away from poverty induced starvation and disease, thanks to Al, the Media, and the Hollywood Left.

By the way; Al and the other Elitists will be continuing to live their lives in opulence, while you and I freeze in the winter and fry in the summer.  No cars, no A/C, nice hot sweaty buses, empty bellies, lots of Global carbon taxes to pay - - - thanks Al.

I'm not doing this for points or popularity; I'm just trying to give a few folks the heads up on what is being done to them.

  13. you cant thats just natural.

  14. IT IS A SCAM - TO MAKE MONEY.

It is not a pollutant, but a natural gas that every organic item releases.  Even volcanoes release tons 300 times more than every man, woman, and child causes to be produced every year.

There is a new scheme managed by the UN (hmm) Carbon Cap and Trade.  Some companies are banking on this Carbon Trading Vehicle.  They are trying to make a market out of thin are requiring payment to market participants to do business.  Obviously the business that buy these Carbon Credits will ultimately Charge YOU.

THIS IS A HUGE TAX to PAY CORPORATIONS, and GOVERNMENTS.

Global Warming is just the vehicle  - it is not real, but an exaggerated illusion.

  15. Okay, so do you REALLY want to stop the production of CO2?

Here's something for you to think about.  There's a natural process called photosynthesis, whereby plants take in water (from the ground and air) and carbon dioxide (from the air) and produce, among other things, OXYGEN!!.  OMG!!  In fact, greenhouse growers will often pump CO2 into their greenhouses to help plant growth.  Now put the pieces together and ponder for a while...plants, less CO2, more O2, bigger plants, even less CO2, even more O2...and on and on.  We won't even talk about carbon fixation and the Calvin Cycle here.  Now, let's do some math.  If you take the take the volume of the atmosphere and subtract the volume of the earth, and divide the remainder by the number of humans on the planet, you'll find that there is roughly (or at least the last time I did the math) 44 cubic miles of atmosphere for every human on earth.  Add some plants and trees and see if anyone can still suggest to you that man is causing global warming.  If you knew anything at all about the science behind your suggestion, you'd see how ridding the earth of carbon would be a catastrophe.

  16. well said alm0stch yes its all a scam to make billions of dollars in tax revunue and its tipical cult behavior also to distract us from our real problems like aids,cancer,war...ect.

  17. It's true that humans emit a relatively small amount of CO2 as compared to natural sources.

However, it's also true that natural sources absorb slightly more CO2 than they emit as part of the natural carbon cycle.

When humans burn fossil fuels, we release carbon which has been trapped for millions of years.  This extra CO2 is more than the natural carbon cycle can absorb, so it accumulates in the atmosphere, increasing the greenhouse effect and causing global warming.

  18. Why would you want to make the world carbon free? Plants need carbon.
