Your phone doesn't bounce it's signal through your wireless router, it goes through your carrier(alltel,Sprint, etc,) and gets it's signal through their satellite.

You can connect to the wifi in your home with your iphone and surf for free.  Its the same as the blackberries.   Should work easily without hastle!

if you have a wireless router, all you need to do, even on the current iphone is go to settings>wifi and settings>wifi and select your wireless network, enter the password if there is one, and you are connected to the internet =]
