My grandma fasts, but we live in a Scandinavian country. the sunset and sunrise timings are about 15 hours apart. Should she break her fast at the local sunset timings or the ones of her own country? I dont think its appropriate for her to fast 15 hours, cuz thats just unhealthy, and ive heard that if you wish, you may fast by the timings of the nearest muslim country. is this true?

  1. Maybe but I dont rrly think its true since we got different time in different places.Maybe you should check in internet or other wise check the sunset.

  2. its 14.5 hrs  in the states so not much of a difference.  If she is sick or cannot fast due to old age then its ok for her not to fast

  3. After Maghrib prayer for the Shia Muslims.

  4. Fasting should be according to dawn and sunset timings.

mostly the fast is of 14,15 hours .

  5. There are two answers (which are both valid) .

    1. Muslims in nations which do not have adequate daylight and night hours adhere to the times of the nation nearest to them that does have adequate daylight and night hours.

    2. The second opinion is that you adhere to the times of Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
