Since it's so popular to be "green" right now, why haven't bidets become popular again?

And by the way how do you use a bidet? Do you hover or sit? Which way do you face? Do you turn the water on first or sit first? and how do you know when you're clean?

Because maybe in the US and Canada we are water conscious? Not to mention that on this side of the ocean we seem to be in to much of a hurry to use one when T.P is much faster?  I'm not sure, like you said they never really caught on, as for how to use one I have no idea and would probably be in more of a mess than when I started out!! LOL

i think its the same, instead of using toilet papers u will use water.

just imagine that we use it here in canada, the water is always iced !!!! so  u should install a water mixer (150 additional $)

The truth is that for all of our talk, we Americans are still embarrassed about p**p! We don't want to talk about it or think about it. Other cultures are much more sensible about it - and see it for what it is - something that EVERYONE does and get over it.

The idea of a bidet for most people is gross because they have never tried it. We tend to stick with what we know (it was that way for my parents and my parent's parents). But if you really think about it - how gross is it to stick your hand covered with the thinnest paper down there and wipe your ... um... tush!? And then lots of us (and you know who you are) don't even wash our hands after! I know, I have seen it a milion times in public restrooms! A bidet is actually much more sanitary and enviromental sound.

Of course, that all being said by someone who doesn't have one! Ha. I think it would be cool, but somehow think that when I have to sell my house, no one will buy it if they go into the bathroom and see a bidet in the corner!

They are intimidating because no one knows how to use them and they make us feel less cultured - and no American likes to feel naive.

They have... in many countrys like india and china, where there are many peolple, more and more poeple are using them...
