  1. I just use the character map, but thanks.

  2. Or just use shift and " simultaneously,  followed by a,o or u for ä, ö and ü, no remembering of codes... except for the ever necessary ALT-0128, ofcourse!

  3. Yes, I was aware...thank you

  4. Hey - that's great, didn't know that. Thanks a bunch.

  5. Why can't I just change my keyboard layout via the language bar to German then I only have to press one button each so I can get ä, ö, u, ß etc. ;-)

  6. There are so many good answers here I am not going to pick one as the best ---that would not be fair---....very impressive ...good job everybody....Thanks for taking the time to comment....

  7. I do it with the language bar also. On the bottom right hand side of my PC I  have a little keyboard symbol, and from there I switch between English and German, like right now.....Ä Ü Ö , ä ü ö, ß, and I even get the symbol for Fahrenheit or Celsius like 85°F, or 110°. That little zero comes in handy, since there isn't one on the American keyboard layout.

  8. Vielen dank!
