I agree that the warming is affecting the other planets--not just us. (So I'm a bit doubtful about the human/carbon excuse myself.)

  1. Yes. these all have exactly the same amount of scientific proof as global warming, and yet are untrue

1.) n**i's were the master race.

    2.) Werewolves exist.

3.) We were causing an ice age in the 70's.

4.) Bob knows anything about science.

5.) Peer reviewed data and consensus make science fiction, fact.

  2. To believe in AGW is just stupid. There is more evidence against it than for it.

Evolution is obviously real. There is too much proof to support it... UNLIKE AGW. That does not however mean there is no God. Since, by God's nature, you cannot prove or disprove his existence scientifically, you must ask yourself spiritually if there is a God or not.

I believe milk is good for you and beer is bad for you.

    Cigarettes DO cause lung cancer.

Global warming would be very good for us.

Public education is a joke.... but no one seems to be laughing.

The simple answer is doom and gloom sells news, grants follow the latest scare. The 70's were all about the global cooling and impending ice age. People get sick of alarmist's bending things into funny shapes that look like truth, until you unbend them.

  4. Many people who deny global warming also don't accept evolution, or that the Earth is billions of years old, or that we actually traveled to the Moon.

There's a lot less controversy about this is the real world than there is on Yahoo answers:

And vastly less controversy in the scientific community than you might guess from the few skeptics talked about here:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientific_...

    http://www.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/fu...

EVERY major scientific organization has issued an official statement that this is real, and mostly caused by us.  The National Academy of Sciences, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Institute of Physics, the American Chemical Society, the American Geophysical Union, the American Meteorological Association, etc.

  5. From time to time scientists comes up with a theory that is looks far fetched.

The Martian microbes on the meteorite is one such example.

I think Bob believes what he wants to believe thinking that people don't believe in AGW because of their religion.

  6. I believed we went to the moon what are you talking about? evelution no cause it just mocks us and says my great great great great great.......grand mother crawled out of a monkeys @SS

  7. "Many people who deny global warming also don't accept evolution, or that the Earth is billions of years old, or that we actually traveled to the Moon."

Good one Bob. You know Byderule (posts on YA), who agrees with you, thinks that there is an ancient race of super intelligent reptiles living among us and that 9/11 was a conspiracy. There are nuts on all sides of this issue.

I do accept evolution and that the Earth is billions of years old. I even know that we landed on the moon. What a surprise, eh?

  8. Many people who deny global warming also don't accept evolution, or that the Earth is billions of years old, or that we actually traveled to the Moon.

There's a lot less controversy about this is the real world than there is on Yahoo answers:

Actually Bob, I do not subscribe to spontaneous generation, I do believe in certain aspect of evolution.

I know that we landed on the moon, and I don't deny the holocaust happened.  I do have doubts about AGW and the affects, I have communicated with climatologist who have the same concerns.  They are experts in the field, I am not sure where your coming from but science is not democratic process.

By the way 65% of Americans polled don't believe in evolution, does that mean the debate is settled?

  9. * There is no "scientific consensus" on global warming

    * Climate is always changing – with or without man

    * The Medieval Warm Period was significantly warmer than temperatures today – and was a golden age for agriculture, innovation, and lifespan

    * Most of Antarctica is actually getting colder

    * Hurricanes are not getting worse – our tendency to build houses in their path is getting greater

    * Many big businesses lobby for global warming policies that will increase their profits – and our costs

    * The media only recently abandoned the "global cooling" scare

    * The real agenda behind the "global warming" scare? A massive expansion of government control over the economy and our lives
