A period ocurs once a month when the lining of the uterus falls away (when your not pregnant) better known as a period.

Now you girlfriend is oregnant, she wont get her period for 9months as the lining is providing a safe enviroment for your baby to develop.

For those who don't know, absence of a woman's period is often the first sign of pregnancy and under normal circumstances she does not menstruate at all during her pregnancy.

no the baby is not eating the blood. the egg has been fertilized and a period is also the shreading of the utrus, the utrus is protecting the baby

When a woman is not pregnant, the lining of the uterus is shed every 28 days resulting in a period.  When a woman is pregnant, she no longer needs to shed the lining.  The lining is there in the uterus to support a growing fetus.  The baby is NOT drinking the blood.  The baby is resting like a little angel nestled in its sack in the uterus.
