  1. No.  My husband receives social security because he is disabled.  If you receive income, when you do your taxes, there is a worksheet in the instruction booklet that will show how to determine how much, if any, of your husband's disability income is taxable.

Even if you are employed and make a very good income, your husband's check will not change -- you may have to pay taxes on his benefits, but the AMOUNT of the check will remain the same.

If your husband is able to work a little, his benefit amount may decrease, but he is allowed to earn up to a certain amount before his benefit is affected in any way.

Congratulations on your marriage and best wishes.

  2. no

  3. Hello:  A marriage has nothing to do with a disability check or  workman's compensation being forfeited or reduced.  It is not a pension but a compensation for an injury. I wouldn't worry about losing all or any part of that check.  I am assuming this check is from your husband's employment. Also, a disability check cannot be garnished for outstanding bills or bankruptsy claims; however, this varies from State to State.  Good luck in your marriage and I wouldn't worry about that check.

  4. Nope.. He's disabled, not you, go get a job.

  6. Income has nothing to do with it. Disability is a separate issue .
