Since "anything is possible with God" and since "prayer can move mountains"...?

...can I ask the Christians here for a small favor?

I'd like 100+ Christians to pray tonight that I become a Bible believing Christian when I wake up in the morning. I am even willing to pray as well and to ask Jesus into my heart.

Now, if three or more of you do this, according to the Bible, the prayer will be answered. So, if come Tuesday when I log on again and I am not a Christian, will that demonstrate that perhaps prayer doesnt work?

  1. Careful who you let into your heart.  You never know what kind of diseases they're carrying with them these days

  2. One must hear the Gospel for the seed to be sown. Romans 10:17  "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God " Hebrews 4:12 " For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."

  3. Thats your choice. Life is full of choices. We can pray that God speaks to you. But it would be your choice to change not our prayers.

If I could do that I would pray that the cashier at McDonalds would give me a free burger tonight.

The bible also says test not the lord your God. It seems like this would be testing God. If your heart was sincere and you really wanted prayer then that would be diff. So no, I don't think I will pray for you. If you are serious feel free to email me.

  4. NO! Because you have to be willing to truly believe and not just doing it out of spite to hurt peoples faith! If your not SINCERE, I hope something harsh in life comes and knocks you down a notch or two and you have no choice other than to get down on your own knees and beg God to come and save you.

  5. God does not violate your will.

  6. "I am not a Christian, will that demonstrate that perhaps prayer doesn't work?"

No. It will demonstrate you "set-up" an experiment (scientifically).

I have a better one for you.

    Leap.....

and God will provide a net.

Faith is a mystical paradox that appears as necessary.

    Think (and pray) about that.

    God love you!

  7. Could Moses move Mountain Sinai!

  8. It's your choice to believe or disbelieve and since this is just sarcasm and mocking of Christianity it shouldn't be taken seriously.

  9. I will pray for you. No problem.

However, if God doesn't grant the prayer request, it doesn't mean that the prayer wasn't answered, my friend.

Your heart also has to be sincerely seeking God.

    Peace be with you.

  10. Since god is fiction and prayer is idle, don't expect much.

  11. I don't really think it's necessary so why bother God.

Sounds suspiciously like you already are one.

  12. You can't pray acceptance on someone, if you could the world would be christian by now.

I would like to see them try to move mountains though, or walk on water or ingest poisons as indeed the bible suggest is possible with christ. Failure to move the mountains would have been a better proposition.

It's not testing god by requiring him to live up to what he says.

  13. Your going to bed tonight ( friday) and not waking up until tuesday? You do need a lot of prayer!!

  14. If it doesn't work, they'll blame it on the Satanists (aka the atheists).

  15. that wouldn't be free will.

Why pray for the mountain to be removed when you will walk around the same area again and again?

  16. Not all prayers are answered overnight.  Sometimes it takes days, weeks, months, and even years for a prayer to get answered.  Yes, if two or three pray for something it will be answered however not necessarily overnight.  If you really want to become a christian I'm sure God will help you.  I'll be praying for you so God will help you find the truth.

  17. It will demonstrate that you are as self-righteous as your question.

God can do all things, yet He chose to give us free will. Prayer is not like rubbing a lamp for a genie to pop out.

Think before you ask such silly questions.

    If you can, that is.

  18. Yes you can ask a small favor. . .However I don't think you need to because if one million people prayed for your salvation, that wouldn't work.  Salvation is a personal thing and you just need to follow what the bible says to receive salvation.  Look at Romans:

Rom 10:9  So you will be saved, if you honestly say, "Jesus is Lord," and if you believe with all your heart that God raised him from death.

Rom 10:10  God will accept you and save you, if you truly believe this and tell it to others.

Rom 10:11  The Scriptures say that no one who has faith will be disappointed,

This comes from the Contemporary English Version of the Bible.  I am now praying that you will come to the saving knowledge of Jesus.

    Don

  19. No matter how much I pray for you, this time it doesn't matter.  You must make this choice and I can't pray you into heaven.  If I could that is all that I would do.

You pray and ask Jesus into your heart but you must do this with a sincere heart.  I certainly will pray and ask God to make Himself known to you if your heart is sincere.

  20. It will just prove that your feeble attempts to provoke Jesus into answering your pseudo-prayers just are unable to work as intended. I wonder why.

  21. Be aware - you should hear yourself. You're obviously not ready to make any kind of decision like that. You say, "I'm even willing..." Did you know in order to become a Christian, you DO, in fact, HAVE to aceept Christ as Saviour? Don't make that sound like a final extreme. It's necessary to pray.

Whether three or more of us pray or not, it is YOUR decision. You accept Christ's gift, you become a believer.

I'll be praying that God will soften your heart and reveal to you the truth. I'm going to accept God's timing too, and know that you might become a believer when God wills it.

  22. Instead of asking chrsitains to pray for your insincerity, why not ask god in all sincerty to revail himslef to you.  btw it is faith that can move mountains, not prayer.

  23. Remember not to test your God - That came when Jesus was in the desert and the devil told him to jump off of a cliff and angels would catch him.

  24. If you are willing to ask Jesus into your heart, I pray that you are sincere.  It sounds like you need a friend.

  25. is that what you call a "sincere request" ? LAWL. you are doing teh exact same the pharisees were doing to Jesus when they asked him questions not to find the truth, but to test . thats not how it works. by technicallity, if you prayed to Jesus, as you say, and sincerely ask him to come into your life , then the prayers of these people would already be answered , but we all know, it wont be a sincere prayer, and thus, not heard . i was praying to God to help me save up like 600 bucks to get a decent PC with a dual core, and out the blue, some dude i barely new (my cousin's friend" heard me play piano, lied it so much, he gave me a free Mac Pro Quad with other recording equipment . how bout them apples

  26. You know what I'll do?

I will bake some Christ Crispy Treats to serve as sustenance for the cause!

If it doesn't work, I guess I could always make some Decadent Dawkin's "Special" Espresso Brownies instead.

  27. How could it not with your nice, clean, pure intentions...

    Please already..

Sincere. If you were that you wouldn't be here bleating on, you'd be on your own with God trying to get right.

  28. most definately. but dude, play fair and actually TRY to pray to him... you never know, it might just work. just dont deny it if you get a little inkling... just fyi, im an atheist, but I believe in fair play.

  29. Even if you think prayer doesnt work it does, in a way its alittle like the monkeys paw. In which the Major says things wont just POOF happen they will seem like a coincidence.

  30. I can pray that God will open up your heart and see that you are missing something in your life. But I can't pray that you will wake up a Christian because God gave you free will. However, prayer is a powerful thing. If you sincerely ask Jesus into your heart, your life will be changed forever. I know mine was.

  31. Christians will obfuscate, and blame you for not converting.
