Shouldnt the Washington Redskins be asked to change their name? They're using the "R" word. What other ethnic group would this be ok with? Oh wait a minute is this a good example that how loud your group b****** is in direct relation to what is acceptable??

  1. They have been asked to change their name, on many occasions. They just haven't done it.

There are people on both sides of this particular fence.

  2. To me, its entirely stupid. This world has become far too politically correct. The Washington Bullets changed their name, because ohhhh Bullets are dangerous! Many teams have changed names, and it is completely ridiculous.

  3. It seems to me that there are too many people who go out of there way perceive "hurt".

  4. Yes. It is a racial slur and they should change their name. Remember that Native Americans suffered the worst genocide in human history, have had their culture exploited, their lands have been taken from them, etc. Now, they live in the worst poverty in this country that rivals poverty in the third world (hence why the Lakota announced that they are independent), despite what most people think when they think about the casino boom.

Imagine if there was a team called the Boston N*ggers. That wouldn't go over so well, would it? This is exactly the same, except that Native Americans are even more marginalized than African-Americans are.

  5. sad but true

  6. better than "redbone"

  7. We should all grow up and realize that it is just a team name. It is not now and never has been intended as a racial slur.

  8. what about the Pittsburgh Steelers. Will ex-cons be offended because they stole in the past? Our Pittsburgh Pirates? People become incensed because they have an ancestor that was a pirate? Don't even go there on the Penguins.....Pens Rock!!
