I'm taking a test tomorrow, but if I am then it's about a month or a month and a half and I just quit smoking today... Would that month of smoking cigarettes affect the fetus or no?

  1. My mom smoked the entire pregnancy with me and I have had no health problems AT ALL.

    No.

  2. Could it affect the fetus?  Yes.

However, the important thing is that you have decided to stop.  You cannot change what has already happened.  But, given that you smoked that first month, you can still give your child the best prenatal care possible - including a smoke-free mommy.

Try the following links for the relationship between smoking and the unborn child:

  3. no a lot of women smoke the whole time your just a month your baby will be fine

  4. I smoked the first 2 months I was preg w/ my son (didn't know I was preg) I actually decided to quit smoking the DAY before I found out! My son is VERY healthy.

  5. Sounds like you're pregnant, that's a long time. Smoke seriously affects the fetus. Leads to retardation. Seek medical attention immediately.

  6. Interesting question...I'll give you a star =)

After fertilization, the pre-implantation embryo is transported to the uterus for implantation and further embryonic development, Proper timing throughout all stages of [egg] pickup and transport is critical for successful fertilization and pregnancy
