tend to defer judement as to whether proportional/disproportional dead lifts will limit and athlete in an intermediate medley even't, isn't there?

  1. dead lifts are not a bad exercise. they are perfect for someone who wants to increase muscle mass and strength. swimmers though, i dont know. they might be better off with just dryland exercises and simply doing bodyweight calestenics. some weight lifting though is good. but dead lifts might not be the answer. too hard on the body. they need to save their body for the metres.
