Since there is a drug war going on in Tijuana, MX is it safe to travel to Rosarito MX this summer?

I've heard a lot in the news about the killings and kidnapping of innocent people due to the drug wars in Tijuana. Is there anyone that lives over there that can tell me how bad it is?

That's so not true, I am a mexican from mexico city, and if you know how to travel safe and mingle adequately (not looking so much like a tourist) you can perfectly go and visit places without any fear

Of course if you get all wasted and are obnoxious clubbing and partying around something not so good might happen to you and not only in mexico but anywhere in the world.

Do more research about the places you want to visit, download maps and study the areas, even try to meet locals online, this always works and there will be always someone eager to help you.

I've travelled alone to several cities around the world even when hearing those were going to be very dangerous places (Istanbul, Warsaw, NYC) and I had nothing but the time of my life, so I pretty much practice what I preach.

Unless you are personally involved with the drug cartels, its a safe place. Pay attention to your surroundings, don't get drunk and obnoxious. I live near Rosarito and go there many times a week...the media has overwhelmed the public with news of ciminality in the area, the Army is patrolling, the Federales are on the highways. Come on down and have fun, we need the money.

It's preety bad i suggest not to go, i used to live in Mexico but almost every place in Mexico is like that now a days.
