I'm tired of old men creating wars for young men to die in. I think we should have an age cap the same way we have a minimum. Anyone who says that would be discrimination should consider that it is equally discriminating to have a minimum age of 35. Since that is already a requirement we should add another that excludes those who actually care less about the future than the rest of us.

  1. If you are referencing John McCain i think he knows what war is about. He was Vietnam and was taken as a Pow for several years. He could have taken the easy way out and been a Vietcong spokesperson and denounced America but he was a true American and would not. For this he was tortured and his legs were broken multiple times. If you watch him at the RNC walking to the stage you may notice he still has a limp from his brave actions. Hopefully you are under 18 and will not have a vote in this years election.

  2. YES, there should be an age cap!!

  3. I think all presidential candidates should have to undergo a psychological evaluation to ensure that they're of sound mind before they are allowed to run for the presidency.  If they have some type of disease that's going to affect their judgment, they need to be given treatment instead of the presidency.

  4. Yes. Actually, there already is. A government employee cannot be over 65 years old - that's the legal retirement age.

  5. Well when the minimum age requirement to be president was set.

The average life span in the US was around 40 years old.

So if you increased the minimum age to be president, to follow the increase in the average life span.

Then we would have a minimum age to be president of around 68 years old right now.

So sure, put an age cap on it, but change the minimum to reflect increased life spans also.

That's what is causing Social Security so many problems.

When it started, the SS retirement age was 62 yrs old, but the average life span was only 55 yrs old.

So not many people actually collected.

If we did it the same way today, you would have to be 80 yrs old, to collect SS.

  6. I don't think think so.  Maybe we could require an alzheimers test after age 70.  It would have caught Reagan.

  7. Yes, Yes, Yes  If you are too old to remember how many homes you have, you are too old!!!!!

  8. No!  The Constitution sets the requirements.  35 was chosen to keep out the inexperienced.  If the old are of sound mind there is no reason to exclude them.
